Brush up on the most recent news from BeesNest and the hospitality industry
At BeesNest Web Design, we help boutique resorts create websites that attract corporate retreat clients.
But how did we get our start? What’s our origin story? Read on to learn about the experienced team behind BeesNest and our shared passion for helping our clients strengthen their teams.
The heart and soul of BeesNest is Eric Ranner, who spent 17 years as the corporate social director at the renowned Woodloch Pines resort. During that time, he worked with dozens of big-name corporate clients like Google, Johnson & Johnson, LG, and Pfizer to plan and host successful retreats.
Through these experiences, Eric learned all the little details that make or break a corporate retreat. He enjoyed the fast-paced environment at Woodloch but eventually decided to transition to a more family-friendly career. That’s when he ended up at Grandjean & Braverman, the parent company behind BeesNest Web Design.
It took company owner Mike Wolfe six months longer than it should have, but he eventually realized that Eric’s unique retreat expertise paired with his web development skills were a perfect match.
With Eric’s insider knowledge into what corporations want from a retreat and Mike’s 17 years of experience as a professional software developer, they had all the ingredients needed to help boutique resorts improve their web presence to attract more corporate retreat business.
While Eric is the star of the show, Mike also brings valuable experience to BeesNest. In addition to his decade of experience running Grandjean & Braverman and delivering insane value to clients through software, Mike spent four years at West Point followed by five years as a US Army officer.
His leadership training at the world’s premiere institution for leadership, combined with being an officer and soccer coach, gave Mike the team-building skills needed to help corporate groups strengthen their teams during a retreat. As we like to say at BeesNest, “Come with a mission, leave with a purpose.”
With his first-hand knowledge of the corporate retreat planning process, Eric knew that big resort chains tend to take a mass-market approach. They excel at high volume but often miss the mark on customization.
Boutique resorts, on the other hand, offer the personalized, transformational retreat experiences that build strong teams. Their small size and focus on unique amenities make them ideal hosts.
The problem? Most boutique resorts don’t have the marketing resources or web expertise to effectively reach corporate clients online.
After recognizing this gap in the market, Mike and Eric founded BeesNest Web Design to partner with these boutique resorts. By creating custom websites designed to attract corporate retreat clients, we help small resorts grow their business and provide customized retreat experiences.
Through his connections in the corporate world, Eric knows exactly what elements retreat planners are looking for in a resort website. We incorporate all of those details into the custom sites we build for boutique resorts.
Some of the corporate-focused features we include are:
Our retreat-optimized designs allow planners to quickly find the information they need to evaluate your resort. And our search engine optimization strategies help them discover your website in the first place.
In addition to building corporate retreat websites, we also share our expertise to help new resort clients fine-tune their offerings. From food and lodging recommendations to team building activities, we provide insider tips to create the perfect retreat experience.
And for resorts that need extra help with retreat logistics, we even provide hands-on planning services. Our team will work closely with your staff to design agendas, coordinate group events, promote team building, and handle all retreat details.
At BeesNest Web Design, our passion is helping teams come together and gain purpose during corporate retreats. Through past experience, key partnerships, and web marketing expertise, we enable boutique resorts to deliver customized retreats that unite teams.
